Meeker Raspberry is an upright thorny deciduous shrub that produces large, extra sweet fruit that can be harvested throughout summer.   Its small but attractive late spring bloom of white flowers attracts pollinators.  Grows best in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Meeker is self-pollinating, and its fruits freeze well or make excellent preservatives. Disease resistant.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance.  Intolerant of wet soils- can lead to root rot.  Prune fruiting canes and weak canes immediately after fruiting, and as needed in winter.  Remove suckers and trimmings to prevent rooting.  Anthracnose, botrytis and root rot can be serious problems.  Cane and crown borers are potential serious pests. Prune after harvest.

 LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Wildlife Garden, Naturalized Areas, Ponds and Streams, Edible Gardens, and Containers.
