Red Beauty Hens and Chicks is a mat-forming evergreen succulent  that grows in tight rosettes of flat frosty grey-green foliage with deep red tips that flushes further as the weather cools.  The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks).  Infrequently in summer a short stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of deep pink flowers.  The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow.  Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils.  Drought and heat tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Well-drained soils will avoid root/crown rot and rust issues.

Rock Gardens, Xeriscape Gardens, Indoor Plants, and Containers.
